Welcome to Danleigh Sokerov Counselling ) referred to as either “the company,” “we,” “us” or “our") in this agreement, operated by Danleigh Sokerov, a sole proprietorship based in Surrey, British Columbia. Our aim with this policy is to provide you with transparent guidelines on how we engage with you online.

Confidentiality is paramount in our counsellor-client relationships. Counsellors have an obligation to maintain client confidentiality. While clients (referred to as “client,” “clients” or you”) are not bound by the same confidentiality obligations, they have the autonomy to choose the extent to which they disclose information about their relationship with us. Should you wish for your counsellor to share specific details about your relationship, written consent is required. It’s important to note that interacting with our social media platforms may lead others to infer a connection between you and Danleigh Sokerov Counselling. However, you maintain control over what you choose to share regarding this connection.

When you post on our social media accounts or share our content, we will respond as we would to any other individual engaging with our pages. This may include liking or responding to your post, but we will not disclose our relationship with you.

Our counsellors will not accept friend requests on their personal social media accounts. Maintaining professional boundaries is essential, as personal connections can blur the lines of our therapeutic relationship. If such a request is made, we will respectfully decline it and discuss the matter further in our next session. We encourage you to connect with our official Danleigh Sokerov Counselling pages on platforms like Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram. For contacting your counsellor between sessions, telephone or email are the preferred methods.

While clients or potential clients may reach out to us through social media messaging, it’s important to acknowledge that these platforms lack secure communication channels. Therefore, we cannot guarantee the privacy of such interactions. Additionally, response times may vary, as we prioritize maintaining the integrity of our therapeutic relationship, which may require minimizing external influences such as social media. Consequently, we do not review clients’ online profiles.

We maintain Danleigh Sokerov Counselling social media profiles where we share mental health-related content. Your engagement with these pages is optional, and if you choose to connect, be aware that it may compromise your confidentiality, as others may assume a connection to our practice.

In rare cases where we have concerns about the immediate safety of you or of an identified third party and have exhausted other means of communication, we may resort to using search engines or social media to locate you.

We do not solicit client testimonials. If you encounter our business listing on review platforms, google etc. please note that this was not solicited by us. While you have the right to leave a review, it may compromise your privacy. We encourage direct communication with us to address any feedback or concerns.

Your privacy regarding your relationship with Danleigh Sokerov Counselling is paramount. Location services pose a risk to this privacy. We advise awareness of this potential compromise and respect your autonomy in choosing whether to enable such services on your devices.

Please do not hesitate to contact us at any time if you wish to discuss our social media policy or your privacy. If you have questions or concerns about these policies, please bring them to discuss at your next session with your counsellor or email danleigh.sokerov@outlook.com.
